What is obsidian's texture?

It is glass, so smooth and shiny. What is obsidian's texture?
Obsidian is very very smooth to the touch...like rubbing your hand on marble. Its jet black, and very glassy looking. However, if you break open an obsidian, you will be surprised, to find a rough..dull..gray rock. What is obsidian's texture?
The proper term for that property of obsidian is ';glassy';.
Like glass but actually it is volcanic stone, aztecs and ancient mexicans used this to make arrowheads and knives.
yeah very smooth and shiny because it had a very short cooling time. usually black as well.
Obsidian is mainly black with sharp edges, it is smooth and is made of hardened lava.
Smooth as glass.
