I need a lightly textured wallpaper to go on the walls of an old cottage. Any suggestions!?

I have taken off all the old wood-chip wallpaper and filled in all the holes but the wall is not good enough to paint onto directly I would like some suggestions for paper with only a very light texture.I need a lightly textured wallpaper to go on the walls of an old cottage. Any suggestions!?

I would not consider any wallpaper. It is very 80s, and no matter what paper you put up, it will always look like painted wall paper. You can buy cans of knock down texture at most DIY home cneters (Home Depot, ect...), and all you do is spray it on from 18-24'; away, wait half hour, and run a 12'; putty knife across it. This will hide just about everything and give you a nice texture to paint.
Paintable wallpaper is available at Lowe's, check your local wallpaper stores as well.


You could add a texture to your wall and then paint.
You could simply hang heavy grade lining paper then paint it if you don't actually want textured or embossed paper.
