introduce some texture in the foods he likes best...he will get used to it...try giving him some off of your plate...he will be hungry and want what you are having...My 21 month old son only eats pureed food. He simply refuse any texture. Any suggestion?
If it were my kid I would only offer him what I was eating, and if he didn't eat it he would go hungry, eventually he would eat.

First I would take him to the doctor to make sure he didn't have some problem that was the cause, but if he was just being spoiled and picky I would not allow it.
STOP THE PUREED FOODS!!!!!!!!!

Give him normal food and if he refuses - do NOT give in!!!

Just keep giving him the food - he will eat when he gets hungry!!!
well hopefully you have ruled out autism or any other pervasive developmental disorders.

What you can try doing, is give him some cheerios. If he doesn't want to eat them, add a little milk to them to make them a little soggy, but make sure some are still a little hard and see if he eats that. Or you might try to not puree the food completely. Just blend it so that there are still some chunks in it and see if he'll eat that.

I know some speech therapists will use a brush (it doesn't have bristles but has some nubs on it) that they rub around the child's mouth - cheeks, tongue, gums - and sometimes the child will refuse to allow that brush to go in after the first time, but after a while, he'll get used to it. It really takes a lot of time for some kiddos. This will help with textures.
Have him checked out by a speech therapist who specializes in toddlers. Sometimes kids have oral-motor difficulties that make chewing hard, or have an unusual sensitivity to texture. Try pureeing food in the blender or a baby food grinder and gradually adding texture. Don't refuse to feed him or make a big issue of it or you may be setting him up for an eating disorder later. By the way, have you tried offering him small pieces of food he can feed himself?
