What can i use to create meshes, textures and models to use for a mod in fallout 3?

im creating a mod for fallout 3 but i need to use something that can alllow me to create an entirely new model and mesh and texture. I heard about one called blender. Is that good? What can i use to create meshes, textures and models to use for a mod in fallout 3?
Unless you're planning to make a square box prepare to be disappointed. Creating a 3D object in Blender then fitting it into the game via Nifscope is something video game designers get paid to do and people go to college to learn. It's tedious work that requires artistic skill and imagination.

Maybe you've got it, I certainly don't. The most I've learned to do is fiddle with textures in Photoshop and switch a texture around using Nifscope for some of the things in the game which don't allow switching via the GECK, such as Robobrains.

If you go to http://www.fallout3nexus.com/ you'll see precious few items with new 3D models for the reasons stated above.

Look at this new model for a weapon: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/f鈥?/a>

That's pretty much it under new weapon mods. You'll also see 3D models imported from other games, but most weapon and armor mods are strictly changes and effects in the GECK.What can i use to create meshes, textures and models to use for a mod in fallout 3?
